Cut the panel grooves along the inside edges of the side frames with a router and a piloted three-wing slotting cutter. Dry-assemble each side frame and clamp one of them face down on a work surface. Adjust the router's cutting depth to center the groove on the edges of the stock. With a firm grip on the router, turn on the tool and lower the base plate onto the surface. Guide the bit into the stock near one corner of the frame. Once the pilot bearing butts against the edge of the stock, continue the cut in a clockwise direction. Repeat the process for the other panel openings, repositioning the clamps as necessary.
