Make a mixture of one pan distilled turpentine and one part boiled linseed oil. Just before application, heat the oil. Do not heat this mixture over an open flame! Instead, use a double-boiler technique. Place the can containing the mixture in a larger pan, and pour boiling water in the larger pan. The oil mixture will heat up in a few minutes. Brush the warm mixture generously over the wood to be finished. Allow it to soak into the wood for ten minutes or so. Then wipe off the excess.
