Repairing a Broken Joint

In restoration work, you may have to make new dowel joints and you also may have to repair broken dowel joints. In most repair situations, you must drill out the old broken dowel and replace it. While you cart drill out an old dowel by eyc-balling the work as you go, we don'i recommend it. You can do a better job by clumping the doweling jig over the old dowel pieces, checking the position of your drill through the jig, and drilling, almost as if you were drilling for a new dowel.
