Problems with the Final Finish

Whenever we have checked out a final finish problem on a kit, we found that the kit assembler had glue or sanding problems (outlined earlier), or he substituted a different finish material for the one supplied or recommended by the kit maker. If you want to finish your kit in a different manner than described by the kit maker, it is a good idea to call him and discuss the change. Tell him the product you have in mind to use. He may be able to tell you of a better product, or of poor experience he has had with the one you want to use.

Don't hesitate to contact the kit maker, whatever your problem. Firstly, he wants you to be satisfied because you will buy more and your friends will buy when they see your good results. Secondly, you've spend a pretty good chunk of money on the kit, and have a right to expect good results in the assembly and finishing of it.
