1. Fill any exposed screw holes with wood filler.
  2. Sand the completed bench.
  3. Stain or paint the finished bench in the color of your choice. If you plan to use it outside, be sure to use exterior-grade finishing materials.

This perky bench really lightens the mood on my front porch; it nearly always brings a smile to the faces of those who ring my doorbell. This bench is not difficult to make, and it provides handy seating on the porch- perfect for watching some of the crazy antics of your neighbors. The finished bench is 34 inches wide, 35 inches tall, and 20-1/2 inches deep.
