edge joints (see page 21) to make a slightly oversize board. When assembled, cut it to the correct size and round off the edges of the front and two sides with a jack plane.

2 On the underside of the top, make two grooves with a router to house the top edges of the sides of the carcass, and make a rebate in the underside of the back edge to accommodate the back.
