Decorative Moulding

1 To make decorative moulding that runs around the carcass, cut a length of pine sufficient to make two sides and a front, including enough spare length to allow for the mitres on the two front corners, and then cut the moulding along the complete length. I used a combination of a rebate made with a rebating plane and a cut made by a moulding bit in a router to achieve the shape shown (see pages 72 and 73). As with the other decorative features of the cupboard, there is some scope here for individual creativity. Cut the length of moulding into three and make the mitres using a mitre block. Glue the decorative strip into place.
