Add the drawer and then the finish

ICut the drawer front (I), back (J), sides (K), and bottom (L) to the sizes listed in the Materials List.

2 Cut a 'A" groove lA" deep A" from the bottom edge of the front, back, and side pieces, where shown on Drawing 3 above right.

3Cut V2" rabbets 3/s" deep on both ends of the front piece (I) and the back end of each side piece (K). (See Drawing 3.) •

4Draw diagonal lines from corner to corner to find the center of the drawer front. Drill the hole for the knob.

5 Dry-clamp the pieces and check the fit of the drawer in the opening. Then, glue and clamp the drawer parts.

6Drill a pair of mounting holes through the cabinet back, where shown on Drawing 1.

7 Sand the cabinet, back, door, and drawer. Apply the finish to the cabinet and knobs. (We left the cherry natural and brushed on several coats of polyurethane.) Add the knobs. Finally, secure the door to the cabinet with the hinges, and mount the magnetic catch and strike plate. ♦
